The Garrison-Max Troopers girls golf team finally swung into action this past week, competing at Velva. And the ladies picked their game up just like it was mid-season.
Brittny Riemer took 3rd place with a 102, Caitlin Wilcox tied for 4th with a 104, Jenna Mehlhoff placed 6th with a 105. Jessica Stumvoll and Casey Behles came in with 118 and 120 respectively. A team total of 429 was good enough for 1st place.
Coach Loni Hall said the girls played well for not having very much time to practice on the putting green or driving range due to the weather this season.
“We definitely found out that we need to improve our short game, both chipping and putting,” Hall lamented. “They hit the ball well but seemed to have some trouble once we got closer to the green.”
