Garrison girls represent at State B

Garrison’s Karli Klein shaved nearly two seconds off her time and set a personal record in her second-place showing at state track this weekend.
“She broke the school record for the 100-meter hurdles,” Coach Justin Folk said. “It was mostly Karli, Karli does a lot, she works as hard as anybody out there. She had a bad day in the 300-meter for her and she came back strong in the 100-meter after a brief feeling-bad section, and then she ran her two fastest races she ever had.”
He remarked that it’s been a great progression for Klein, a sophomore, since her start as a seventh-grader.
“Her first time ever she fell and now she’s getting second in state,” Folks said. “It was fun to watch.”
Klein was one of Garrison’s five qualifying athletes, all girls, who headed to the North Dakota State Class B Track and Field meet in Bismarck Friday and Saturday.
Klein qualified in both the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles, along with her three relay partners.
