Mike Anderson and Rob Holm, both of Riverdale, were inducted into the North Dakota Fishing Hall of Fame Friday evening.
Anderson and Holm were among four men and one organization to be inducted in the Hall of Fame, which was designed to recognize and honor persons, organizations, or institutions that have made significant and lasting contributions to sportfishing in North Dakota.
Anderson is a founding member of the Great Planers Trout and Salmon Club, which has existed for almost 40 years. He has also been a dedicated member of the North Dakota Sportfishing Congress – which was also inducted – and has served in various officer roles within the Congress.
“I’ll cherish (this award) for the rest of my life,” Anderson said.
Holm served a 36-year career with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service until his recent retirement in June. For the past 25 years, Holm served as manager of the Garrison Dam National Fish Hatchery and Valley City National Fish Hatchery. During his tenure as manager of the federal hatcheries in North Dakota, hundreds of millions of fish have been raised for the benefit of the angling public.
