Governor’s Cup is filled

Don’t let it be said the North Dakota Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament isn’t a popular mid-summer event in the state.
The Governor’s Cup Committee began taking applications last week. Forms could not be dated prior to Monday, Jan. 16. By Saturday, the 252-team field was full.
Joyce Pfliger, Governor’s Cup committee member, said with the field full, she anticipates an abundance of phone calls from anglers wanting to be put on the waiting list.
She said committee members were shocked at how quickly the field filled – especially with there being no mail Jan. 16, Martin Luther King Day.
