Golfer with Garrison ties makes a name for herself
She’s become the “one to watch” on the LPGA

The daughter of a Garrison native is making a name for herself in the professional golf circuit.
Amy Olsen, 26, was born in Oxbow and started playing golf when she was two years old.
Olson and her brother, Nathan, grew up on a golf course.
“Our family would often go out as a family and golf a few holes in the evening after supper when the kids were young,” said Amy’s mother, Twyla Anderson, who graduated from Garrison High School in 1980.
“My husband, many times, loaded up the Little Tykes wagon with the kids and some snacks and took them to the driving range with him.”
Anderson said even though Amy had a club in her hand from time she could stand, she didn’t develop the passion for golf until a few years later.
