Girls county tourney underway
The annual McLean County Girls Basketball Tournament begins this week. The tourney runs today (Thursday) through Saturday at Turtle Lake-Mercer High School in Turtle Lake.
Opening round action will have the host Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky Trojans taking on the White Shield Lady Warriors at 3 p.m. Wilton-Wing will square off against the Max Lady Cossacks at approximately 4:45 p.m.
In the evening bracket, the Washburn Cardinals will tangle with Mandaree at 6:30 p.m. Closing out opening day action will be Garrison battling the Underwood Lady Comets. Game time is approximately 8:15.
Action continues Friday, concluding Saturday. Start times will remain 3, 4:45, 6:30 and 8:15 p.m. Game times are approximate and will start 20 minutes following the previous game.
Last year, the Washburn Cardinals outlasted Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky 58-39 to win the county crown.
