Girls break school record

BY TYSON SMEDSTAD
There’s nothing like waiting until the last meet of the regular season to start breaking records, and that’s exactly what the girls 4x200 relay did at the Hazen Invitational last weekend. The relay team consisted of Illise Jennings, Karli Klein, Sarah Lagge and Kaitlyn Klein, and they ran it in 1 hour 48 minutes and 34 seconds, beating the old record of 1:48.68.
Lagge also finished second in the 100 metre dash and fifth in both the long jump and triple jump.
Jennings took home the first place spot in the 200m dash and third in long jump.
The 4x100 girls relay placed third with the Klein sisters, Kailyn Zook and Gabby Hummel.
Zook also placed eighth in the 200m dash.
Hummel topped the high jump in first place.
There was one middle distance runner, Olivia Klein, who came in sixth in the 800m.
Another great showing in women’s hurdles; Karli Klein in second, Aubrey Black in seventh and Sumers Foss in ninth.
Haley Huesers had another top ten performance coming in sixth in the Shot put.
