Gehring, Kamp earn mini-camp top honors

Shelby Gehring and Jaaron Kamp, both incoming freshmen at Garrison, are this year’s Trooper Coed Mini-Camp outstanding campers. The camp concluded its week-long run this past Friday with an awards ceremony at Roy Schei Gym.
The camp, under the direction of Garrison’s Jason Mattheis and Sandra Essler, targets the fundamentals of basketball with emphasis on shooting, ball handling and defensive and offensive techniques. Each participant competes for special awards at the camp.
Other individual and team contest honors (top three) in order of finish were:
Most improved: Boys – Brady Norenberg, Matthew Norenberg and John Diaz. Girls – Josie Westman, Alaura Ermer and Skylar Bright.
Defense: Adam Roedocker, Jack Bright and Cain Foss.
Hustle: Honor Glock, Haley Huesers and Gabby Hummel.
Dribbling: (Ages 6-9 – top three placers) – Connor Kerzmann, Honor Glock and Karli Klein; (Ages 10-11) Jack Bright, Katherine White and Evan Kolden; (Ages 12-14) – Shelby Gehring, Cain Foss and Gabe Holt.
Hot Shot: (Ages 6-9) – Braxton Iglehart, Honor Glock, and John Backhaus; (Ages 10-11) – Jack Bright, Alexis Backhaus and Xavier Burleson; (Ages 12-14) – Jaaron Kamp, Cain Foss and Jonah Bearstail-Dickens
Layups: (6-9) – John Backhaus, Connor Kerzmann and Brady Norenberg; (Ages 10-11) – Jack Bright, Tyler Syvertson and Alexis Backhaus; (Ages 12-14) – Dawson Wimer, Jonah Bearstail-Dickens and Nashton Wimer
