Garrison rides big first half for win over LHMB
A 16-3 run by Garrison in the second quarter propelled the Troopers to a 52-42 victory over Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock, Feb. 6, in Garrison. Both teams stood at 13-5 as the result of the game.
Garrison never trailed in the game, using a 9-3 run in the first quarter to take the lead for good. McCall Chase’s three-pointer gave Garrison an 11-5 lead with just over three minutes to go in the opening period, and the Troopers would hold at least a two-possession lead the rest of the way. Chase, who scored 11 points in the quarter, hit a runner in the final minute of the frame to give Garrison a 16-10 advantage, and the Troopers took control during the second quarter, where LHMB misfired on seven of eight field goal attempts, and turned the ball over seven times.
