The Standing Rock Warriors pounded the court last Thursday evening, defeating the Garrison Troopers in a narrow victory, 64-62.
A combination of three-pointers from Braxton Iglehart and Connor Kerzmann – his second in the game at 22 seconds on the clock – gave the Troopers a dozen, but the Warriors took the lead early in the quarter. The work of Lance Bradley, John Luger and Carter Harrison, along with a three-pointer from Drew Bordeaux, quickly pushed the Warriors to the lead. At the end of the quarter, they were ahead by five points, with the score 12-17.
Little Hail Perkins, Kerzman and Treyson Iglehart quickly racked up seven points in the first two minutes of the second quarter, giving the Troopers a lead. However, less than a minute later, Harrison tied the game and was followed by Bradley with back-to-back points mirroring the work of the Troopers trio – two two-pointers and a three-point bucket – again pushing the Warriors ahead. Despite points from Kerzmann and Perkins, the Warriors – via Harrison and Ty Giroux – were ahead by three points at halftime, leading 27-30.
