District 8 Tournament heats up
The NDHSAA Division B District 8 Tournament tipped off on Feb. 28, bringing together all eight teams in a battle for four coveted spots in the Region 4 Tournament—one step closer to the ultimate goal of a State Tournament appearance.
Among the teams in the thick of the competition, the fifth-seeded White Shield Warriors and second-seeded host team Garrison Troopers have both faced high-stakes matchups in their pursuit of a regional berth.
The tournament opened with an electrifying contest between White Shield and fourth-seeded Washburn.
Both teams delivered a back-and-forth battle that had fans on the edge of their seats until the final buzzer.
In the end, White Shield pulled off a hard-fought 65-63 victory, securing a spot in the second round against the top-seeded Wilton-Wing Miners.
