District 10 boxed out of semifinals
Local teams fall to District 9 competitors in round 1 of Regions

Monday’s start to the Region 5 tournament would prove to be rocky for District 10 teams, which all brought home losses against District 9 opponents.
District 10’s No. 1 seed, the Garrison Troopers, would fight a tooth and nail battle with the New Salem-Almont Holsteins, who secured a 55-53 win for a seat in the semifinals.
In game two of the tournament, District 9’s second seed, Flasher, would face District 10’s third seed, Wilton-Wing. The Bulldogs would come out on top and move ahead in the tournament with a 66-46 win.
Round three brought together District 9’s No. 1 seed, Shiloh Christian, and District 10’s fourth seed, Washburn. Shiloh would take a 76-52 win over the Cardinals.
