County girls basketball kicks off The heart of the basketball season begins in earnest this week with the start of the annual McLean County Girls Basketball Tournament. The tourney will take to the Wilton High School gym, with tip-off scheduled for 3:30 p.m. today (Thursday). The three-day tournament features Garrison, Turtle Lake-Mercer, Underwood, Max, Wilton, Washburn, Our Redeemers and White Shield. Thursday Dec. 4 action begins with Underwood going up against White Shield at 3:30 p.m. At 5, Our Redeemers and Garrison square off. In the evening session, Washburn tangles with Max. First day action closes with Turtle Lake-Mercer meeting Wilton. Friday consolation games begin at 3:30 and continue with a 5:30 p.m. game. The winner’s bracket play will start at 6:30 and the second day of tourney play will end with the 8 p.m. game.
