Cossacks fall to Lakers

The Max-Garrison Cossacks baseball team opened its 2014 campaign on a sour note, Monday, dropping two to Des Lacs-Burlington Monday in Max.
The Lakers won in a shutout in the first game, 13-0. The nightcap went the Lakers way as well, 7-1.
The game was played under sunny skies with strong northwest winds, but ground conditions were soggy, notably around the edges of the field. Both players and coaches were happy to get the season underway and get back to playing baseball.
