Cossacks busy week pays off

MAX — This past week the Max Cossacks boys basketball team competed in three contests, a Jan. 17 home game against Standing Rock that ended in a 70-52 defeat, a Jan. 21 roadtrip to Glenburn that ended in a 55-40 victory and a Jan. 23 road game against Parshall that resulted in an 87-51 loss to close out their week of play.
Kicking off their week, the Cossacks played host to the Warriors of Standing Rock the evening of Jan. 17.
Quarter one opened with a lopsided period of play as Standing Rock’s offense was able to generate 25 points while limiting the Cossacks shooters to just 12 in the period.
While the first quarter of play was not kind to the Cossacks’ offense, quarter two was a different story entirely as Max’s group out-scored the Warriors 19-18.
