Boys hoops begin

It’s time for the boys to take center stage first on the basketball court. The boys season begins Monday for the Garrison Troopers – and other boys teams across the state.
In a shuffling of seasons, the boys season gets underway first this year. In years past, the girls season kicked off the high school basketball season in the state.
The Trooper boys open their season Monday against a new foe – Drake. The game is in Garrison and begins with the JV game at 5:45 p.m.
Youth will be served with this year’s version of the Troopers. Five seniors, the core of last year’s team, are gone to graduation. They are Cody Hagen, Randy Essler, Will Robinson, Dan Gackle and Luke Hasenwinkel.
