BLFG backs Wilderness project

The proposed walking/hiking/biking path for Wilderness Park is Better Living for Garrison’s signature project for 2016.
Money raised from Sunday’s annual banquet will be used strictly for the path and not for landscaping that must be done before a path can be created.
BLFG President Ron Krebsbach said the project is one that will enhance recreation opportunities in Garrison.
"We think it will be a good deal," he said. "Wilderness Park … it’s a nice area, but it needs some improvements. There are some hazards out there … we have to do something with it to make it usable."
Earlier this year, Garrison received a $80,000 Transportation Alternative Program grant for the proposed Wilderness Park trail. The TAP grant is from the N.D. Department of Transportation.
