Better late than ‘weather’

Kicking off the tournament season at the Garrison Golf Course had a questionable start.
When the weather forecast turned cold and gloomy for the Early Bird Tournament scheduled for May 8, organizers made a last-minute decision to postpone the tourney until the next weekend in hopes of better weather and a better turnout.
They got their wish.
Saturday was sunny and warm with just a slight breeze. Perfect golfing weather.
All but one of the 22 teams that had registered showed up to play.
The team led by captain Jon Roles came away with the win scoring a 57.
