Aggies’ streak, and season, end in heartbreak
In a dramatic turn of events, the undefeated run of the Velva-Drake/Anamoose-Garrison Aggies came to an end this Saturday as they fell to Dickinson Trinity with a score of 45-34 in the NDHSAA Class A State Semi-Finals.
The Aggies, renowned for their near-flawless record, had not tasted defeat in almost two full calendar years, a streak that has been the talk of North Dakota high school football.
Their journey to the semi-finals had been marked by determination, skill, and a team spirit that captivated fans across the state.
Dickinson Trinity, however, proved to be a formidable opponent.
With a robust strategy and relentless drive, they managed to do what no other team has in recent memory — dismantle the Aggies’ defense and outpace their offense in a game that will be long remembered for its intensity and the end of an immaculate stretch of football for the Aggies.
