Aggies one step closer to state

VELVA – At this point last year, the Velva-Drake/Anamoose-Garrison Aggies marked the end of their season, following a defeat by the Bishop Ryan Lions. This time around, though, the Aggies will carry on to the semi-finals, having defeated the Dickinson-Trinity Titans in the second round of the 11B playoffs 36-13 last Saturday. This game was the biggest challenge the Aggies had faced in this season to this point and it was apparent from the opening kickoff. Typically, the Aggies hold a two-score lead by the first quarter’s conclusion; in this matchup, though, Treyson Iglehart’s first quarter score would be the only points for either team in the entire first half.
