A Warrior in the weight room
WHITE SHIELD — White Shield resident and decorated powerlifter Michael Red Tomahawk is currently gearing up for the upcoming King of the North weightlifting competition in Dickinson this Sunday, when he will be competing in the squat, bench press and deadlift of the 100kg weight class (approximately 220.5 pounds) in the Men’s Masters 41-44 Division.
“I was the state record holder and champion in powerlifting for two years until my records were shattered this past September in Fargo at the North Dakota Open,” he said. “I got third place there, but I’ll be representing our region and the state of North Dakota in Las Vegas (in September) at the 100kg Men’s Masters Class National Championships.”
