Perfect marksmen hit the target
Garrison High’s Riley Mautz and Troy Betz were on target last week. Each shot a perfect 25-25 during group competition.
Lady Troopers burning up the course
The Lady Troopers girls golf team was back at it last week traveling to Velva on Thursday and then up to Bottineau on Friday. On Thursday, Mackenzie Jacobson took top honors with another 89 followed by Maddie, Jocelyn, Taitum, and Gabby from Northern Lights with a 93, 94, 96, and 98 respectively.
Track team picks up the pace
In just the second and third outdoor meets of the season, the Garrison-Max track team already has two members punching their ticket for state.
It’s a wrap for young wrestlers
We have finished up our season and are looking back on what has been a very successful season. We’ve seen many wrestlers do great things this year and it showed on the mats.
Grapplers place at state
Garrison wrestled in Stanley on Friday and in New Salem on Saturday. In Stanley we wrestled nine wrestlers and came away with two champions, Mason Smith and Earl Holmes.
New law moves pheasant opener to Oct. 7
A new law passed by the North Dakota Legislature will result in the State Game and Fish Department to propose Oct. 7 as opening day of the 2017 pheasant hunting season, one week earlier than what the department earlier announced.
Wrestlers visit Berthold, Center
The Garrison Kids Wrestling competed in Berthold this past Friday and in Center on Saturday.
Wrestlers continue getting better
This past weekend, the Garrison Kids Wrestling Club participated in three tournaments – Velva, Hazen, and Beulah.
Troop, Max sent packing
The Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky Trojans are this year’s District 10 champions. The Trojans held off the Washburn Cardinals 49-37, Monday night, in Washburn.
