Youth golf receives grant
The Minot Youth Golf Association, known for providing support to area youth golf programs, recently granted the Garrison program $2,800 for 2018. In addition to funds, the Minot program also plans to donate golf balls and left-handed clubs.
Trooper netters on a roll
After opening the season 0-2, the Garrison-Max Troopers volleyball team is turning heads. The team knocked off previously undefeated Powers Lake last week.
Troopers get ‘super’ win
The Garrison-Max volleyball team chalked up one in the win column, Thrusday night, a dominating 3-0 victory over Standing Rock.

After a couple of 3-0 setbacks to Lewis & Clark Berthold and Des Lacs-Burlington last week, the Garrison-Max Troopers volleyball team hopes some home cooking, playing on the Roy Shei Gym floor, will turn their fortunes around.
Troopers open with victory
It was a good night for the Garrison-Max Troopers varsity football team. The Troop headed north to Lewis & Clark Berthold and came away victorious, winning 12-0.
Cross country co-op off and running
A new day is dawning on cross-country in northern McLean County. Rather than go it alone with a handful of participants each, Max, Garrison and South Prairie voted last fall to form a co-op in the sport.
G-M Troopers ready to rumble
The countdown to kickoff is getting closer by the day. The season opens Friday Aug. 25 as the Garrison-Max Troopers travel to Berthold to take on Lewis & Clark-Berthold.
Cheer team is top banana
Allyson Youngs, Garrison, won the Top Award given at UCA Summer Camps called the “All-American Cheerleader” award.
Wagner-led team wins Women’s Scramble
It was a hot day on the Garrison Golf Course, Saturday, and so was the four-person team led by Tara Wagner. Her team, consisting of Tonee Matteson, Mary Zimmerman and Carries Stockdill, carded a 69, minus -3 under par for the 18-hole tournament.
Reeling in some excitement
For 140 participants, the waters of deTrobriand Bay at Fort Stevenson State Park brought excitement of reeling in all different kinds of fish at the Jr. Governor’s Cup Derby.
