The Troopers played a difficult match last Tuesday when they took on the Center-Stanton Wildcats.
Troopers beat Mustangs and Bison
Garrison-Max hosted the Surrey Mustangs Sept. 11 in another junior varsity showdown and it was one for the books. Final score was 48-34, Troopers on top.
Elbowoods 1942 team honored
It was March 21, 1942. The Warriors of Elbowoods had accomplished what every small-town North Dakota basketball team dreams of: playing in the North Dakota State B championship game.
Troopers show great improvement
Garrison-Max Varsity Volleyball season opened last week with two games. First game jitters against the Berthold Bombers Aug. 28 were definitely present, but Coach Josh Wastvedt said, “We have to keep in mind how incredibly young we are not only grace-wise, but also experience wise.”
Trooper football played hard
The Garrison-Max Troopers opened their season with an exciting game last Friday. Many fans turned out for their inaugural game and helped cheer on their team.
Tomlinsons – Racing is in their blood
It’s been a good season for Tomlinson Racing. Brothers Stan (Buckwheat) and Vance Tomlinson each recently picked up track championships at the McLean County Speedway in Underwood – Buckwheat in Sport Mods and Vance in hobby stock -- and nephews Myles and Marcus have been tearing up several tracks around the state and beyond in A-Mods, the same type of car their dad Mike Tomlinson, older brother to Vance and Buckwheat, used to drive.
Coach passionate about volleyball
Josh Wastved.has a passion for volleyball. He graduated in 2005 from Hatton, ND and hasn’t stopped coaching since. But his history with the game started well before that. He was in junior high when he was killing time by blocking varsity girls’ spikes during volleyball practice.
Wilcox Team Wins Women’s Scramble
The Women’s Prairie Scramble was held Saturday, August fourth at the Garrison Golf Course. . Forty four women participated in the 11 team tournament.

Huston, Steele reel in a victory
Casey Steele and Jarred Huston of Garrison made the city proud as local winners of the North Dakota Governor’s Walleye Cup this weekend.
