Troopers on a roll

The Garrison basketball program traveled to Washburn for a boys and girls double-header last Tueday, with Garrison’s boys taking care of business quite easily, winning 65-33.

This past week the White Shield Warriors girls team participated in a busy week, competing in three contests – a road game in North Shore-Plaza, and two home games against New Town and Solen – all of which resulted in losses for the group.

This past week the Velva-Garrison-Max Aggies competed in two separate events, the Pembina North County Duals on Jan. 24 and the East/West Invitational in New Salem-Almont Jan. 27-28.

Last week the Garrison Troopers boys basketball team competed in two contests, a home game against the Velva Aggies that the Troop won 78-66 and a road contest against heated rival Shiloh Christian that ended in a resounding Troopers defeat, 87-58.

In the last meeting the White Shield Warriors and the Williston Trinity Christian Crusaders had a year ago, the Crusaders knocked the Warriors out of the District 15 quarterfinals by six points. Last Friday, the Warriors took the spotlight, grabbing the win 74-67.

Troopers hold off Coyotes

Kicking off their run of action in the McLean County Shootout Garrison’s Troopers looked to defend their home court from the Grant County-Mott-Regent Coyotes on Jan. 6, a task the Troopers would ultimately succeed in winning 66-56.

December 29 Garrison’s boys basketball team hosted the Nedrose Cardinals for the team’s first contest in 10 days following an unexpected break in the action due to weather/holidays, Garrison’s boys would go on to win 76-32 in the game.
