Trail goes for review

By STU MERRY

After taking a short breather, plans for a proposed walking/hiking/biking train for Wilderness Park are back on the path to reality.

Members of the Wilderness Park Improvement Committee received word an updated 90 percent plan is off to officials at the North Dakota Department of Transportation. Submitting the plan is part of the grant process.

DOT officials will now review the plan, make any suggested changes and return it to the engineering firm, Karvakko Engineering, Minot. Once that’s complete, the firm will make any additional changes so the trail can go to the bid process. Committee members will also review the proposed layout and approve it. That meeting date is not set, but is tentatively set for August.
