Summer ball happening in Garrison

BY TYSON SMEDSTAD
There will be summer baseball in Garrison.
Titan’s Head Coach Luke Gehring said there will be an independent baseball league for boys ages 14-18 that he will be coaching.
It will be set up similar to Legion baseball.
“The vast majority of class B teams will be involoved,”Gehring said. “Bart Savelkoul from Mohall-Landsford had a huge part in putting everything together.”
Even though it’s an independent team it will be funded by the Legion board and the team will use the Titan’s name and uniforms.
“I was very nervous especially after hearing Legion was canceled. I’m very excited, it’s always nice to go out and play baseball,” all position player Dawson Wimer said.
Infield player Clay Bendickson added, “Yes, I’m very excited to play baseball this summer. I was worried it would be canceled due to COVID-19. But now I get to play with an independent team.”
The team will practice and play game at Titan’s Field in Garrison.
