Road weary

Daunting.
That’s how McLean County officials describe the work that needs to be done to bring roads in the county back to a semblance of normal after this past winter.
With so many areas affected, it’s almost like standing in a swarm of mosquitoes. Which one should be swatted first? In this case, its what areas should receive top priority?
Even though the majority of damage has been done and is water under the bridge, now comes the task of putting things back to rights.
County Highway Superintendent Ron Wagner toured the county a month ago. What he saw then were washed out roads, roads under water and areas where water was still going over the road. When he and commissioners inspected some areas of the county this past Thursday, it was more of the same.
Richard and Linda Berg are one of many families in the county who have been virtually cut off from civilization because of the flooding.
