Not so ordinary people

Whether she’s one with her surroundings, sitting in complete silence, waiting for her prey, or competing in national tournaments, Carissa Schumaier always feels more comfortable with a bow in her hands.
Carissa was brought up hunting and shooting. She said shooting bow was a "big family thing." She, her parents and her brother would travel for tournaments and shoot together.
Carissa said she first picked up a bow when she was 11 and fell in love with the challenge of the sport.
"When shooting bow, it’s more of an individual thing, when you mess up it is your fault," she said. "It is nice to be outdoors and a lot of the tournaments have 3D targets that prepare you for hunting, too."
Her love for archery grew as she did and she became more skilled and began winning more tournaments.
