Park board puts out call for more lifeguards
BY ALYSSA MEIER
The Garrison Park Board needs more hands on deck, or, at least, at its lifeguard stands.
During its April 14 meeting, the Garrison Park Board reviewed applications for summer positions, including maintaining and monitoring the pool.
Needing a minimum of 10 lifeguards on staff to get through the summer, the board came up short by roughly four qualified applicants, a shortfall that could be detrimental to operations.
“We have six, maybe six and a half, and with that --” Danielle Rensch said.
“We can’t run the pool.” Sandy Crawford said.
