Garrison Lodging business changes hands
Garrison Lodging business changes hands
By CHERYL ODDEN
Those who patronize either of Garrison’s motels will likely not notice a change in service. A major change has occurred, however.
Effective Feb. 14, there are new owners for the Garrison Motel and North Shore Inn & Suites. Even though Dennis and Irene Jeffrey sold their lodging business, it is remaining in the family. Dave (Dennis and Irene’s son) and his wife Beth are the new owner/operators. In addition to the two motels, the lodging business includes three cabins and a small house.
Giving a brief history of the family’s involvement in the Garrison business community, Dave noted that his parents purchased the 30-room Garrison Motel in the fall of 2002. The cabins and house were purchased several years later. The newest property, North Shore Inn & Suites was completed last spring. It features 22 rooms as well as a conference room that is available to motel guests and to the community.
Dave, a native of Towner and Beth, a Walhalla native, have two daughters: Kailee, 11, and Emalie, 8. The girls attend Bob Callies Elementary School. The family has lived in Garrison since 2003, having moved from Minneapolis.
