Additions proposed, but should a new school be considered?
By STU MERRY
It’s off to the drawing board for the architectural firm of Anderson Wade & Whitty of Minot. Garrison School Board members unanimously approved hiring the firm this past Thursday. The firm will be asked to develop 3-4 preliminary drawings for expansion at the elementary and high school facilities.
But will the final decision be to add on, or should the school look farther down the road as to what its needs might be 10-15 years from now?
Anderson Wade & Whitty (AW&W) was chosen over Hulsing and Associates of Bismarck. One of the reasons given was that AW&W designed the 1989 addition to the elementary school. The firm also designed the expansion project at Velva which is under construction.
