Dollar General moves ahead


Utilities, water still to be nailed down

It’s nearly a go. Without any hiccups, Dollar General will break ground as early as this summer and be open for business as early as this fall.
The Garrison Planning and Zoning Committee approved a zoning change on land east of McLean Electric Cooperative March 27. The zoning recommendation was contingent on annexation. Monday the Garrison City Council approved the zoning change and the annexation of the land from the county to the city.
Land owned by George and Bernice Schlichting was rezoned from agriculture to retail business
Brenda Bauer, owner of This That n’ More, was the only one to protest before a unanimous vote of the zoning board and a unanimous vote of the city council.
