Taxpayers will find their taxes will be a little bit less, at least at the county level.
The amount needed from taxpayers to support the budget would be a little over $7 million, but the mill levy will decrease 0.26 percent from 83.82 mills to 82.63 mills.
However, other entities within the county may have more levies, which means taxes might be higher in those aspects, said Beth Knutson, McLean County auditor. She noted that each taxing district — be it fire, ambulance or school — has a different mill levy, which could affect how much taxes are this year.
This is also dependent on the value of an individual’s property, she added.
