Wildfire defeats Cougars Jake Ruff 1TD, 19 tackles, 1 fumble recovery

The number four ranked Mott/Regent Wildfire defeated the Central McLean Cougars 43-6 in the Cougars’ last game of the season.
Ethan Keller scored on runs of 16 and 11 yards and Chad Mosbrocker caught a 20-yard pass from McCahen Schweitzer for the Wildfire to take a 24-0 first-half lead.
Jake Ruff rambled 62 yards for a Cougars TD in the second quarter to cut the Wildfire lead to 24-6. The PAT failed.
The Wildfire scored 13 points in the third quarter. Keller on a two-yard run and Tanner Vesledall, also on a two-yard run.
Logan Haberstroh scored late in the fourth quarter for Wildfire on an eight-yard run to make the final score 43-6, Wildfire.
The loss leaves the Cougars in fifth place in the region with three wins and five losses.
Other Region 6 games: Rich-ardton/Taylor/Hebron stayed on top as they defeated Beach 39-14; Washburn defeated Wilton/Wing 62-12; and Hettinger beat Center/Stanton 51-8.
