The Trojans defeated the Washburn Cardinals 50-48 in the Region 5 Championship game at Legacy High School in Bismarck Thursday night.
Three free throws from Trey Klain with less than 2.6 seconds remaining in the game lifted the Trojans from a 48-47 deficit to a 50-48 win.
The Trojans appeared as Region Champs before at the State B Tournament in 2009, 2008 and 1977.
The State B is at the Minot State Dome March 16, 17 and 18.
The Trojans play Hillsboro-Central Valley in the second afternoon game. Dickinson Trinity is up against Ellendale in the first game.
Four Winds Minnewaukan and Stanley tangle in the first evening game and Fargo Oak Grove plays Minot Bishop in the last game of the day.
Senior Blake Anderson and sophomore Trapper Jacobs top the list of All Region 5 players.
Other teammates include Noah Sloka-Garrison, Connor Marion-Flasher, Koby Hanson-Washburn, Tate Dickson-Wilton/Wing, Brayden Uses Arrow, Montel Carlow and Jayce Archambault-Solen, Bartholomew Ogbu, Canaan Fagerland and Macauley Young-Bismarck Shiloh Christian.
