Trojans three-peat as McLean County Champs

The Trojans of Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky won the Mc-Lean County Tournament in Underwood this past week, defeating the Washburn Cardinals 63-43.
The opening round games saw Bismarck JV defeat Max 53-45; Washburn hold off Hettinger 39-35; TL-M-M defeated Under-wood 75-41; and Center/ Stanton defeated Garrison 68-32.
Semi-final games saw Wash-burn defeat Bismarck JV 58-49 and TL-M-M beat Center/Stan-ton 65-28.
In consolation action, Hettinger defeated Max in over time 42-40 and Garrison slipped past Underwood 56-49.
Underwood defeated Max for seventh place, 72-65; Hettinger defeated Garrison for fifth place, 45-35; and Bismarck JV defeated Center/Stanton, 58-50, in the third place game.
Trojans 75-Comets 41
Grant Singer tallied a double-double, scoring 23 points and pulling down 11 rebounds in the opening game.
Ben Duben was the high scorer for the Comets with 24 points.
The Trojans started out a little slow in their first game of the tournament against the Underwood Comets. The Comets played a strong first few minutes of the game, taking a 10-8 lead at the 2:49 mark of the first quarter.
A base line drive by Grant Singer resulted in a bucket to tie the game at 10.
