Trojans stop Coyotes 3-1
By Allan Tinker The rival teams of Sheridan County and Turtle Lake-Mercer met on the McClusky school turf for a three-match session on Sept. 18. The varsity game ended with a loss for McClusky but included some tight running scores before the final tallies were in. The first game was a close match, with each team setting pace only to see their lead fall to a vigorous response by their opponent. Top kill earns by Sheridan’s Massingill and Tkach and TL-M’s Sondrol and Bayless kept the spectators waiting to see where the games would go. The Sheridan team out-aced the TL-M team, with a total of 12 to 7. Assists weighed heavier on the TL-M side, with Anderson, Lee and Hanson racking up 22 to Sheridan’s Werner and Dockter’s ten. Kills ran rampant for TL-M, 28; the Coyotes with 22.
