Trojans regular season ends, districts begin

The Trojans regular season came to an end this past week with a 58-53 win over the New Salem/Almont Holsteins and losses to Standing Rock 80-69 and Kidder County 60-37.
The Trojans end the regular season with five wins and 14 losses and enter the District 10 tournament as the fourth seeded team.
The Trojans play the first game of the District 10 tournament against Wilton/Wing Feb. 27 at 4 pm in Washburn.
The Trojans had three players in double figures against the Holsteins. Hunter Jacobs led the way with 15 points, followed by Dylan Olsen with 13 and Jake Hanson with 11.
Spencer Rebel led the Holsteins with 25 points.
The first quarter action saw a very close game with two ties and four lead changes. A bucket from Dylan Olsen just before the first quarter buzzer sounded gave the Trojans an 11-10 lead at the end of one.
The second quarter started the same but a 10-0 run for the Holsteins midway through the quarter gave them a 28-18 lead.
The Trojans cut the Holsteins’ lead to 29-22 after a short jumper from Tanner Freeman and a steal and bucket from Blake Anderson.
The Holsteins led at the break: 29-22.
Third quarter action saw Jake Hanson and Spencer Rebel trade buckets to start the quarter. Then Olsen scored a double and triple to close the gap to 31-29.
