Trojans outlast Miners

The Trojans were in Wilton for a double header game Tuesday night and came away winners in both games.
The girls game saw the Trojans win by a score of 52-44. The win put the Trojans in second place in the District 10 standings with a 5-1 record and an overall record of 10 wins and seven losses.
The Miners slip to 3-3 in District play and nine wins and 10 losses overall.
Garrison stands on top of the District with a 6-0 record and 16 wins and one loss overall.
The District 10 Tournament begins Feb. 12 in Underwood.
The Trojans play the second game against Center/Stanton.
On the boys side, the Trojans also were on the win by a score of 63-58.
The Trojans raised their District record to 3-3 and are in fourth place. Their overall record is four wins and 11 losses.
The Miners slip to 2-4 in District play and fifth place. Their overall record falls to four wins and 11 losses. Again, Garrison stands on top of the District with a 6-0 record.
Mariah Sellon was the leading scorer for the Trojans with 16 points. Tasha Williams also scored in double figures with 11 points.
MaKayla Koski was the leading scorer for the Miners with 13 points.
The first quarter was close with the Miners taking a 13-10 lead after a triple from MaKayla Koski at the 2:26 mark. Trista Crimmins tied the game at 13 after making three free throws after she was fouled on a three-point attempt. The score was tied at the end of one at 13.
The Trojans took a 17-13 lead to start the second quarter after buckets from Mariah Sellon and Tasha Williams. A pair of free throws from Koski cut the Trojans’ lead to 17-15.
