Trojans fourth at Mandan

The Trojans took fourth place in the Mandan Holiday Tournament this past week.
Hunter Jacobs was placed on the All-Tournament Team. Other members of the team were: Hayden Sadowsky and Brandon Peirce from Hettinger/Scranton, Chad Coulter, Jared Walter and Bartholomew Ogbu from Bismarck Shiloh Christian, Connor Marion and Payton Gabrielson from Flasher, Brandon Jenkins from Wilton/Wing and Parker Engelhard from Bottineau.
In quarter-final action against New Salem/Almont, the Trojans had a very slow start; scoring just four points the first quarter but only trailing 11-4 at the end of one.
The Trojans turned it around the second quarter with a 15-0 run to take a 21-12 lead at the 2:18 mark.
A 4-0 rally by the Holsteins ended the first half with the Trojans in front 21-16.
An 11-2 run for the Holsteins in the third quarter propelled them to a 29 27 lead.
A triple from Trey Klain at the 1:23 mark put the Trojans in front 30-29.
The triple from Klain was the only one for the Trojans and the Holsteins had just two as there were forty attempts from the two teams.
