The Turtle Lake-Mercer Mc-Clusky Trojans were defeated in the Championship game of District 10 by the Underwood Comets 52-36. The loss puts the Trojans against Grant County in the Region 5 Tournament Mar. 11, 12 and 14 at Mandan High School.
Chloe Bayless, Sabrina Rust and Mariah Sellon were selected for the 2013 All District 10 Team. Other members of the team are Kaylee Capp- Max; Libbi Hazenwinkel and Taylor Kamp- Garrison; Abby Landenberger and Erin Dammann- Under-wood; Kennedy Retterath and Carly Freeman- Washburn; Heidi Clausen and Jocelyn Bergquist- Wilton/Wing.
2013 District 10 Senior Ath-lete of the Year award went to Kennedy Retterath from Washburn.
2013 District 10 Coach of the Year Award went to Lisa Jenkins from Wilton/Wing.
Chloe Bayless and Mariah Sellon were chosen for the 2013 District 10 All Tournament Team. Other members of the team are Abby Landenberger and Erin Dammann- Underwood; Heidi Clausen and Jocelyn Bergquist- Wilton/Wing; Kennedy Retterath- Washburn; Libbi Hazenwinkel-Garrison; McKayla Huesers- Max; and Madeline Henke- Center/Stanton.
The District 10 Tournament started Thursday, Feb 28. The Trojans received a first round bye. In other action Wilton/Wing defeated Garrison 45-29, Underwood defeated Center/Stanton, and Washburn beat Max 52-31.
In semi-final action the Tro-jans defeated the Miners from Wilton/Wing 54-50.
Chloe Bayless led the Trojans with 15 points. Mariah Sellon added 10.
The Miners were led by Heidi Clausen with 15 points followed by Jocelyn Bergquist with 13 and Tienna Johnson with 12.
The Trojans jumped to a 12-5 lead to start the game. Haley Zinke and Kennedy Sondrol poured in triples. Chloe Bayless and Sabrina Rust netted doubles and Mariah Sellon added a pair of free throws for the Trojans points.
