BY TIM HANSON

The Trojans evened their record at one win and one loss with an 82 to 56 win over the New Salem Holsteins on Tuesday night. But, Friday night the Tro-jans lost to the Linton Lions on the home court 68 to 55 to put the Trojans at one win and two losses.

The Trojans play a boys and girls double header at Max Dec. 19. The Trojans scored 13 three pointers in the win against the Holsteins. Hunter Jacobs tallied five and Blake Anderson four for the Trojans.

The Trojans led at the end of the first quarter 16-11. The second quarter was almost even with the Trojans gaining two points to lead 41-34. The third quarter saw the Trojans outscore the Holsteins 28 to 16, lead 69-50 and roll to an 82-56 win.

The Linton Lions were in town Friday night for the first home game of the season for the Trojans.

The Lions got on the scoreboard first and scored the first six points as the Trojans didn’t handle the Lions’ press very well. With 6:36 remaining, Landen Lelm got the Trojans on the board with a free throw but he was answered by Austin Bernhardt with a bucket to put the Lions up 8-1.

Buckets from Lelm on a rebound and one from Trevor Boehm on an inbound play cut the Lions’ lead to 8-5.

The Trojans cut the Lions’ lead to 12-11 after triples from Boehm and Hunter Jacobs. The Trojans tied the score at 14 after a free throw from Jacobs at the 3:40 mark and a lay-up from Boehm at 3:08.

The Lions got a bucket from Bernhardt and one from Andrew Small as the buzzer sounded; they put the Lions up 18-14 at the end of one. A lay-up from Blake Anderson just seconds into the second quarter cut the Lions’ lead to 18-16. At the 6:24 mark Anderson drained a triple to give the Trojans a 19-18 lead.
