The Trojans girls team defeated the Bulldogs from Flasher 70-62 on the Trojans home court Tuesday night.
Mariah Sellon was the leading scorer for the Trojans 16 points. Kennedy Sondrol followed with 15 and Tasha Williams 14.
Secora Schmidt led the Bulldogs with 21 points. Tiffany Freisz and Serena Frederick were also in double figures with 16 and 11 points.
The first quarter was close as the score was tied four times but a drive and bucket from Mariah Sellon put the Trojans in front 10-8 at the 1:23. A triple from Serena Frederick and a free throw from Whitney Leingang put the Bulldogs in front at the end of one, 12-10.
Each team matched the other’s scores in the second quarter until a short jumper from Jada Maher and two free throws from Tiffany Freisz gave the Bulldogs a 28-24 lead at the 3:21 mark.
At the 3:07 mark, Kennedy Sondrol sank a triple from the top of the key and, a few seconds later, sank the second one from the same spot to give the Trojans a 30-28 lead.
The Trojans led 32-30 at the half time break but a triple from Freisz just seconds into the third quarter put the Bulldogs in front 33-32.
A bucket from Williams at the 3:14 mark gave the Trojans a 43-39 advantage but a 7-0 run for the Bulldogs put them up 46-43 at the 1:37 mark. Schmidt scored a couple of buckets and free throw and Josie Vandenburg added a deuce in that run.
A pair of free throws from Anderson late in the quarter cut the Bulldogs’ lead to 46-45 at the end of three.
