Trojans crush Wildcats Peltier pours in 36

The Center/Stanton Wildcats were in town for a double header district match-up with the Trojans Tuesday night. The girls evened their regular season at six wins and six losses; on the district side they raised their record to four wins and one loss with a 77-40 win over the Wildcats.
On the boys’ side they raised their regular season record to 14-1 and their district record to 5-0 after an 83-55 win over the Wildcats.
The Trojans put five players in double digits… scoring wise. Haley Zinke was the leader with 17 followed by Kennedy Sondrol and Tasha Williams with 14 each.
Mariah Sellon tossed in 13 and Trista Crimmins netted 11.
Rachel Vitek led the Wildcats with 12 points.
Haley Zinke got the Trojans on the scoreboard first with a drive to the bucket and score. A few seconds late Zinke scored from close range, then she put down a triple from the right wing to make the score 9-0 Trojans at the 7:13 mark.
Mariah Sellon scored the next four points with back-to-back lay-ups making the score 11-0 Trojans. The Wildcats scored six unanswered points next. Rachel Vitek started the mini-run with a short jumper; Tristen Henke scored next as she grabbed a loose ball and put it in.
At the 2:56 mark Madeline Henke scored on a break-away to make the score 11-6 Trojans.
The teams traded buckets the next couple of times down the floor. A bucket from Sabrina Rust ended the first quarter score with the Trojans in front: 17-12.
The second quarter started with Carly Benjamin scoring from the paint and she was answered by Trista Crimmins with a long two from the right wing.
A bucket from the Wildcats Madeline Henke was answered by Kennedy Sondrol with a triple from the right corner at the 6:05 mark to put the Trojans out front 22-16.
