Trojans beat Comets

The Trojans were in Under-wood for a double header Jan 22 and defeated the Comets 48-38 in the girls game and 64-34 in the boys game.
The girls are at 3-1 in district play and 5-6 overall. The boys went to 4-0 in district play and 13-1 overall.
Up next for the Trojans is a double-header game with Center/Stanton on the home court Jan 29. The girls go to Sawyer Feb 1. Another home double header with Towner/Granville/Upham is on Feb. 2 and then they are on a road trip to Wilton for a double header Feb.5.
The girls game saw Mariah Sellon lead the Trojans in scoring with 14 points. The Comets had two girls in double figures: Erin Dammann with 11 and Abby Landenberger with 11.
Both teams played without one of their players. Chloe Bayless was still out with an injury for the Trojans and Charley Auck was out with illness for the Comets.
Emma Lee got the Comets on the scoreboard first with a short jumper but Sabrina Rust answered with a short shot from the paint to tie the game at two.
A triple from Kennedy Sondrol put Trojans in front 5-2. She was answered by Abby Landenberger with a deuce to make the score 5-4 Trojans at the 3:55 mark.
Mariah Sellon and Madison Holm traded buckets next then Tasha Williams and Landenberger traded free throws to make the score 8-7 Trojans at the 0:07 mark.
