Trojans and Holsteins share wins

The New Salem/Almont Holstein were in town last Friday night for a double-header. When the final buzzer sounded and the officials’ whistles cooled off, each team won a game. The girls got the win, 40-35, and the boys suffered the loss, 59-54, in two hard-fought battles
There were 75 fouls called, five players fouled out in the two games with 87 free throw attempts. There were 52 free throws made.
Morgan Reiser paced the Trojans with 16 points, followed by Sophie Sparrow with 13. Fayth Hoger led the Holstein with eight points.
The score was all knotted up at four at the end of the first quarter with Reiser getting a bucket and two free throws in a defensive battle. The Holsteins scored their points on four free throws.
