TL-MM Trojans 2012 McLean County Champs

The Turtle Lake-Mercer Mc-Clusky Trojans defeated the Washburn Cardinals 54-53 for the 2012 Championship.
The Trojans and Cardinals kept you on the edge of your seat for thirty two minutes with five ties and sixteen lead changes in the championship game.
Chloe Bayless was the Tro-jans’ leading scorer with 21 points. Jacy Hausauer also scored in double figures with 15 points.
The Cardinals’ scoring leaders were Spanky Clayton and Kennedy Retterath, each with 18 points.
Jacy Hausauer got the Trojans on the score board first at the 7:04 mark.
The Cardinals scored the next five points to take a 5-2 lead.
The Trojans took a 7-5 lead after buckets from Hausauer and Taylor Fylling and a free throw from Chloe Bayless. The teams then traded a couple of buckets with the Cardinals Kennedy Retterath getting the last bucket to end the first quarter with the Trojans in front, 12-11.
The second quarter, the Tro-jans went ahead 20-15 after triples from Haley Zinke and Sabrina Rust and a deuce from Bayless.
Retterath than scored the next six points for the Cardinals to take a 21-20 lead at the 3:16 mark.
Bayless put the Trojans in front with a short jumper but she was answered by Retterath.
A couple of base line drives and buckets from Hausauer put the Trojans in front 26-23.
Buckets from Spanky Clay-ton and Brittney Schell in the last 0:44 of the half put the Cardinals in the lead at half time, 27-26.
