Splitsville for Trojans and Miners

The last district game of the 2019-2020 season for both the Miners and Trojans ended with the Miners winning the girls game, 56-38, and the Trojans winning the boys contest,
59-56. With the win, the Miners girls’ team captures the top spot in the district with a 6-0 record. The Trojans 4-2 record earns them the third spot in the district.
For the boys, the win for the Trojans gives them a 5-1 record good for second in the district and the Miners fall to 2-4 and into fifth place. In the girls game the 56 points scored by the Miners is the most the Trojans have given up all year. Miners’ Coach Jenkins said, “We knew we needed to score points and not get into the Trojans’ low scoring
game.” Hailey Quam was the game’s leading scorer with 21 points. Sophie Sparrow paced the Trojans with 17 points.
