The Trojans cut the Skyhawks’ lead to one point, 60-59, with 13 seconds left in the Region 5 championship game. But, two free throws from Allie Mischel with eleven seconds left and two more with three seconds left sealed the win for the Skyhawks 64-59.
Trojans five foot eight senior guard Mariah Sellon was placed on the 2016 All Region 5 Team. Sellon’s teammates include McKinzie Kuhn-New Salem\Almont, Secora Schmidt-Flasher, Autumn Alt-Grant County, Ellie Gehring and Taylor-Garrison, Carly Freeman-Washburn, Cheyenne Jacobson-Max, Krista Ulmer-Bismarck Shiloh Christian and Ashlynn Sandland-Standing Rock.
Krista Ulmer from Bismarck Shiloh Christian is the 2016 Region 5 Senior Athlete of the Year and Lisa Jenkins from Wilton/Wing is the 2016 Region 5 Coach of the Year.
